Re: discussing popular species of wrasses
I gotta advise you, adding another wrasse right now's gonna be a gamble. For the most part, you can't just throw in two of the same type, unless you know one's a boy and one's a girl.

Re: Optimal placement for favia corals
I've always kept mine on the sand too, seems to be doing great, plenty of space away from other corals.

Re: about bamboo sharks
T1's tank is truly a marvel. He's the mastermind behind that incredible setup, and it's clear he's passionate about his fish. I think he's a fantastic asset to our community.

Re: about bamboo sharks
I've never kept them but have 'heard' things. Apparently, these fish can grow quite large, around 3 feet long, which makes me think you'd need an enormous tank - we're talking several hundred gallons. From what I know, they require a sandy bottom, and I'd imagine they'd be compatible with most large ...

Re: concerns about the clownfish population
n3...I'm not trying to flame you (no pun intended), but I've read that hawkfish can be semi-aggressive, especially towards smaller fish like blennies and gobies. They seem to require specific tankmates to get along. I've noticed that hawks and dottybacks often get mentioned when it comes to ...

Re: need help with vermiculated angel
How big is that angel of yours, 30 gallons seems a bit cramped for them unless it's still pretty small. Remember, territorial behavior is natural in fish, and let's be honest, big fish eat little fish. Clownfish are generally peaceful, but your angel is semi-aggressive and larger, so it's no ...

Re: need help with vermiculated angel
Tank setup, pics, and details would be helpful. SH
Vermiculated angelfish are naturally semi-aggressive, so it's tough to completely change that behavior.

Re: A pinned thread idea
I think you'll find our marine index is already up and running, Fable42. It's got a good mix of marine fish, coflakes, and plants. SeffieUK had a great idea of adding a link to it in our marine resources, but I'm not sure the forum would go for creating a whole new index section just for marine ...

Re: starting a new marine tank: what comes first?
"Congrats on the new tank. I'd recommend checking the FAQ section, it's got some great info on setting up your marine tank. When it comes to adding the first inhabitants, you'll want to go with a cleanup crew - think crabs, snails, shrimp, that sort of thing. Just a heads up, no fish just yet ...

It's literally shriveled up, nothing but skeleton now.
