Keep it simple. No fancy tech needed. My betta's in a jar with a desk lamp nearby. He's fine. Just don't blast 'em like a coral reef.

I've been reading up on the size of Sand Perch, and from what I've found, they typically range from 3-6 inches, with some larger ones reaching up to 11 inches. Given that, I was thinking a 75-gallon tank could work for a pair, as long as we're talking sufficient filtration and water movement. A sand ...

When you say vertically compressed, I'm assuming you mean a tank that's more shallow but wider, rather than one that's really tall and narrow.

Keeping marine sea robins and sand perch in a live tank

I just got back from fishing and I'm totally fascinated by the Diplectrum formosum. Those fish are seriously stunning. I'm now obsessed with the idea of setting up a marine tank just for one of them.

The Sea Robins are pretty cool too.

I'd love to hear from anyone who's had experience with either ...

Thanks for the input. It's actually gotten worse today - I can see even more of the skeleton now and it's shrunk in even further. The left portion's still not extending like the right, and at night it's almost completely closed up. Guess I'll be in the market for a new coral soon. Any suggestions ...

I've had this Hammer coral for a bit over a month and it was doing great, then yesterday I noticed it had shriveled in. I've read they don't recede at night, they even extend their tentacles, but for about two days now the right side is growing and the left side isn't as much, and at night it ...
