One more thing: if you're using a heat pack, wrap it in a towel to avoid direct contact with the container. Too much heat can be just as bad as too little.

Agree with quillmaster. Also, avoid sudden movements. If you're using a jar, fill it only halfway to prevent sloshing. Cover it with a lid but poke holes for air. Keep the container in a dark place to reduce stress. Test the setup beforehand to make sure the lid stays secure.

Thanks, all. Nitrates are at 5 ppm, skimmer's a Reef Octopus. Tank's 6 months old. I'll move it up to a rock ledge and watch the flow. Appreciate the tips!

Just got a Euphyllia ancora frag and I'm unsure about placement. My tank is a 40-gallon mixed reef with AI Prime lighting, running at 70% intensity for 8 hours.
