Is ammonia a zero-emission fuel?
I've experienced significant growth in my one-gallon aquarium over the past year and a few months, resulting in very large mossballs. Despite the presence of numerous snails and not changing the water for roughly two weeks, I'm surprised to find zero ammonia levels according to my test kit. I have ...

Re: What's the easiest substrate for growing grass?
Try an active substrate like floruite or ADA amazonia, should give you a better shot.
I've got a tap on the aquarium, it's an old drinks dispenser, so that's a plus. I always pour water into a bottle first, just to check for any unwanted snail stowaways - don't want a ramshorn snail takeover in ...

If I grow it in an active substrate like floruite or ADA amazonia, will the roots hold it together so it doesn't fall apart when I move the tank? I'm thinking if I have to carry it to the toilet for a water ...

What's the easiest substrate for growing grass?
Hi,
I've attempted to grow short hair grass, but so far, nothing's worked out. I used mineflake rock wool as the substrate, which I previously used for a different plant in my aquarium. I'm looking for a material to put in the bottom of a one-gallon aquarium to create a grass-like blanket effect.

Re: Fragging duncan corals
I fragged mine with a dremel. Bought a single head, worked out fine. It had grown to 30 and was getting out of hand, so I had to take action. Unfortunately, it got so big that other corals were stinging it.

Re: snails and sea fleas: what plants are safe?
To get a better idea of what's going on, can you post a photo and a short video of the aquarium, specifically the area where you're seeing these tiny creatures? If the pics are too large for the site, try taking them with a lower camera resolution - that should make them smaller and more ...

Re: snails and sea fleas: what plants are safe?
I also had another aquarium with short hair grass, but those snails I put in there ended up eating that too.

Re: snails and sea fleas: what plants are safe?
Hi, there's no fish in the tank, I was mistaken about the sea fleas when I looked into the sea monkeys. These are tiny, pin dot sized organisms, they jump around a few millimetres at a time. To be honest, I don't think it's possible to photograph them, they're just too small.

snails and sea fleas: what plants are safe?
Hi,
I just removed a bunch of snails from my planted aquarium because they were munching on the plants. This aquarium has sea fleas, leftovers from my failed sea monkey experiment. Despite their tiny size, they seem to survive even with 90% water changes. Is there an easy way to get rid of them, or ...

Re: Can i have baby snails with only one parent?
I'm rather perplexed by this, I added the snail ages ago and I'd have thought the little ones would be bigger by now, considering how much time has passed.
