I'm with you on the low light and low flow. And definitely not in the sand - they seem to really dislike it. From my experience, sand can cause some serious damage to the tissue, so I'd keep it away from that for sure.

I'm in the market for a 5-gallon tank with a filter that's got a pretty mild flow. My betta's super active, always darting around and swimming back and forth like crazy. I actually just got a 3-tank setup, but I really think I need to upgrade to a 5-gallon tank. Any suggestions would be great.
