Soft corals like zoas don't need much calcium, but LPS and SPS do. Sweetie_22, if you're sticking with softies, you're probably good. Folkster, how often are you dosing? Daily or weekly?

Don't forget to label the containers. Last thing you want is mixing up the bags and stressing the fish more. Simple but easy to overlook.

Yeah, I get it, starting from scratch. I'm just trying to do my due diligence so I'm better equipped to care for them - and they for me, I suppose. Any good resources on Malawis would be a big help.

Actually I'm leaning more towards african cichlids, Malawi's in particular have really caught my eye.

I'm getting back into the hobby after keeping some Oscars and Firemouths as a kid. I've recently set up a 75-gallon tank with some danios, tetras, and plants to get things going.

I've never dripped mine, but I'm hearing a lot of good reasons to start. My tank's at 76°F, pH 7.3, and they're with some Cherry Barbs. Maybe I'll try it next time.
