Update: Did the peroxide dip and fragged the healthy parts. Lost about 20% of the colony but the rest looks stable. Thanks for all the advice, everyone.

Nitrates are around 5 ppm. Thanks for the tip, gonna try the peroxide dip tonight. Should I isolate the colony or treat it in the display?

Noticed black band disease on my Acropora today. Water params are stable, 78F, 1.025 salinity, 8.2 pH. Anyone had success treating this without pulling the whole colony? Running a Red Sea Reefer 350 with T5 hybrid lighting.

It really comes down to your goals. If you're looking to make some money, I get it. But personally, I love seeing a mature colony thrive. Trigger fish can be super aggressive and aren't picky eaters, they'll take down just about anything. If you're planning on having a reef in your tank, triggers are a bad idea - they'll eat all your reef life. I recall seeing a post about coral reproduction methods a few months back, possibly on this forum, though I'm not entirely sure. It mentioned something about "dripping" corals, which seems vaguely relevant to your situation. A quick Google search for "drip coral" might turn up something useful.
