Re: How much live rock do I need for corals?
The 1-1.5 lbs per gallon rule is a decent starting point, but it depends on your scape goals. For a mixed reef, you'll want enough rock to provide stable biological filtration and plenty of surface area for corals. I'd aim for 60-80 lbs in your 75-gallon, but focus on structure over quantity. Make ...

seeking guidance and support

Optimal water flow for bubble coral
Just added this flintix9t last night and I'm curious to hear your thoughts on the flow in the area I've placed it.

Re: Marine aquarium assistance
White belly puffer, I see what you mean about many having that feature. I found the South American puffer when searching Google, but I'm guessing there are others. Can you give me a scientific name for the one you're thinking of?
I've had a look and can't seem to find the scientific name for ...

Re: Marine aquarium assistance
Hi George,
A marine aquarium is essentially a saltwater setup, mimicking the conditions found in the ocean. Now, when it comes to puffers, you've got species that can thrive in freshwater, saltwater, and even brackish environments.
As for mixing puffers with other fish, it's a bit of a mixed ...

Marine aquarium assistance
Hi Everyone,
I'm keen on setting up a marine aquarium, but I'm a bit lost - there's saltwater, freshwater, and brackish, right? I've always fancied having a puffer fish, probably on its own, but now I've seen all these other amazing fish like box fish and triggers. So I've got a few questions:
Can ...
