I'd consider a fairy wrasse or a yellow assessor for your tank. Both are great options for adding some movement and visual interest.
I've had a good experience with the Orange Spotted Prawn Goby, it's a fantastic fish. However, I've learned from my mistake of pairing it with a Tiger Pistol Shrimp ...

Re: keeping kribensis cichlids
Kribensis do require specific water conditions, alkaline and high pH being ideal for them. As African cichlids, they thrive in such environments. On a separate note, congrats on the new additions, lovely to see you've taken the plunge and given them a home.

Re: my 80 gallon reef tank
I'm not sure just manually removing it is the best approach, I've tried scrubbing some of it off but it just comes back. I'm more concerned with figuring out what's causing it, I've read that it's usually a silicate issue but like I said, it's been over a month and it's not going away.

Re: White bubbles on tank surface
Had the same thing happen last month. Turned out my filter was due for a cleaning. Gonna sound weird, but have you added any new fish or plants recently? Sometimes they bring in extra organics.

Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
I think it's likely a combination of the cycling process and the water conditions. As you guys have mentioned, 46L is pretty small for these cichlids, and they do need alkaline water with a pH of 7.5-8.2 and hard water. I'm guessing the lack of surface agitation isn't helping either. And yeah, I'm ...

Re: My cichlid is showing signs of distress
To be honest, 46L is a bit on the small side for those African Cichlids. The water parameters might be off, which could be the reason you're losing them. I think they need water that's a bit more alkaline, around pH 7.5-8.2, and also pretty hard water.

They're shy little guys, and the algae on the glass isn't helping - it's like they're hiding behind it.

Re: introducing new fish
When I bring them home I will. Just setting up a new tank now. They're still at the store, I'll be picking them up soon - next week or two. Got a bubble tip anemone for them, hoping to breed them in their own tank.
