Yep, alk swings stress them out faster than high flow. Test daily for a bit if you're tweaking things.

Re: can bubble corals handle high flow?

Bubble Corals (Plerogyra sinuosa) thrive in moderate flow. High flow can cause tissue damage over time. Check your powerhead settings—if it's above 800 GPH in a 40-gallon, that's likely too much. I'd relocate it to a calmer area with diffused lighting.

Agreed. I run mine at 600 GPH max. Also ...

Malawi deaths: seeking help to stop the loss

I desperately need help. My Jacob is on the verge of death and I'm at a loss for what to do. I've been trying to care for him but things just seem to be getting worse. I've read through some of the previous posts on this topic but I'm still unsure of the best course of action. I'd really appreciate ...

Re: keeping pseudotropheus demasoni cichlids

I'd go with the general consensus, 1 male to 3 females is the way to go. The males really need those females around to bring out their full colour.

Re: best lighting for montipora

Montis can be picky with light. AI Primes are solid, but 60% might be too low for some strains. I run mine at 75%, 10 hours, peak at 80% for 4 hours. Tank's 50 gallons, 8.2 alk, 400 calc, 5 nitrates. Try bumping intensity gradually, like 5% weekly, and watch for bleaching. Also, check your PAR if ...

looking for yellow lab breeders in central scotland

Hi everyone, hope you're all having a great start to the year. Just a quick update on my tank - added some bigger fish a few days ago, unfortunately lost a couple of my smaller yellow labs, but the bigger ones seem to be doing okay. I'm heading to Stirling soon and was wondering if anyone in the ...
