True that on the overfeeding. Also, if you're using live food like brine shrimp, the betta might get too interested in the fry. Stick to pellets or flakes for now. How many fry we talking? A handful or a whole swarm?

Re: Endler fry in betta tank: Is my betta safe?
I've had this happen too. My betta ignored the fry until they got bigger, then boom, snack time. If you've got a spare tank or breeder box, might wanna move the fry. What kinda plants you got besides the java moss? More cover could help.
Yeah, more plants like hornwort or guppy grass could give ...

Re: Endler fry in betta tank: Is my betta safe?
Yep, bettas can be sketchy with fry. Mine wiped out a whole batch of guppy fry once. If your guy's chill now, he might stay that way, but keep an eye out. How big are the fry? Tiny ones are more at risk. Also, what's your feeding schedule? A full betta's less likely to mess with them.

Re: learning about malawi
Honestly, I'm still pretty clueless about what I like, but I do know I love yellow labs, frontosas and buttikoferis - those are the only ones I'm familiar with, but the ones you mentioned are really stunning.

Re: learning about malawi
I'm after fish with lots of color, and those that are interesting to watch. Yes, the tank measurements are in feet. I'm based in London, so my tap water's naturally quite high in pH, around 8.5, and it's very hard. I've found peat works well in my filters for my other fish, so I've been using that ...

learning about malawi
I'm looking for some stocking ideas for a 4x3x2 tank and I'm having trouble narrowing it down. I'm really drawn to yellow labs, and I also love frontosas and buttikoferis. The thing is, I don't really know the names of many other malawis, so I was hoping someone could give me a list of some good ...
