Sand depth matters less if you're dosing bacteria. I use MicroBacter7 weekly, and my 2-inch bed stays clean. Just another angle to consider.

hi, just a thought, but even if they were in separate bags, shipping stress can still be a major issue for saltwater fish. I'd still be concerned about the possibility of decay from the dead fish affecting the water quality, and that could've harmed the other one. Just keep an eye on it, if it's not ...
