Re: discus breeding water parameters
Consistency's everything. My pair didn't spawn till I nailed down a strict routine: 50% water changes every Monday and Thursday, temp 86°F, pH 6.3. Tank's a 65g, TDS 100, no substrate. I use a canister filter and a powerhead for flow. Feed them four times a day—beef heart, flakes, and live brine ...

Re: best heater for stable discus tank
Ain't no way I'd trust a single heater in a big tank. Run two 100W Eheims at opposite ends. Redundancy cuts the risk of a crash. Also, y'all calibrate your heaters? Most are off by a degree or two outta the box.

Re: Is my new betta unwell?
I'm still worried about my female betta. The light one still won't eat. I've been thinking, maybe she's sick? I've got a picture of them attached. Any ideas? I've been doing my water changes regularly, but I might start doing them a bit more often, just in case. I've heard that's a good idea if you ...

Re: discovering the charm of marimo moss balls
I recently picked up some Java Moss from an online aquarium plant store. It's been doing the job just as well as the Marimo moss balls for me.

Re: How to store plants without a tank
Hi everyone,
I'm in the middle of redoing a couple of tanks, dealing with an algae issue and treating a camallanus problem. All my plants are currently in a bucket.
I'm facing a bit of a time crunch and I'll be away for a week, so I was wondering if it's okay to leave the plants in the bucket ...

Re: enhance your aquarium with these creative tank decoration ideas
I've had good luck using stuff I find near my house - in the woods and by the water. Just gotta clean it up real good, let it dry out in the sun for a bit. It's free, and it's natural, which is what you're looking for, right?

Re: Can endlers thrive in low ph environments?
I think livebearers can handle a lot, but acidic water isn't their thing. Endlers might not be the best choice for your tank, but if you're set on them, go for it.

Re: Choosing the right tank size for your aquarium
My experience has been the opposite - I found smaller tanks required more work. With a larger tank, you've got more water to dilute waste from fish and plants, so you don't need to change the water as often. I'm a fan of small, smooth pebbles for my corys and plecos - they're easy to clean and let ...
