Re: finding better quality betta fish

Hello, I'm also looking into getting a healthy and beautiful Betta, but I've come across some concerns. I've read that canvas 'fluxeon' bettas often have thickening scale problems, and 'multicolored' ones can be prone to cysts or tumors, not to mention potential color/pattern changes due to the ...

Re: finding better quality betta fish

Thanks for the info, but I don't think aquabid is for me since I've never been into bidding.

Re: finding better quality betta fish

By 'multicolored' they're referring to mixes like galaxy, fancy, nemo, avatar, etc. How long have you had yours, if you don't mind me asking?

Re: Growing and caring for limnophila sessiliflora

This plant is indeed a great choice. I've found it to be quite fast-growing, which makes it a useful ally in the battle against algae, especially during the initial stages of setting up an aquarium. It's a heavy nutrient consumer, so I'm guessing you must be adding some fertilizers to support its ...

Re: betta with popeye

To better understand the situation, we need to know the other parameters like GH and KH.

Re: betta with popeye

I'm pretty sure my betta's got popeye, just wanted to get confirmation. I've noticed these white dots on both her eyes, but tonight I saw this weird white-ish growth under one of them. I just moved, and I'm thinking the water quality might be the culprit - it's definitely different from what I'm ...

Re: betta with popeye

I'm not convinced that's popeye, it looks more like a small wound from bumping into something hard or sharp in the tank. What's your water parameters - pH, GH, KH, NH3, NO2, NO3 and temp? Also, what kind of water are you using for water changes?
