If you're adding a second light, position it at an angle to avoid shadows. Also, consider adding some fast-growing stems like Hornwort to outcompete algae while the others adjust. They're like the canaries in the coal mine for light issues.

Depth can be tricky for some plants. Java Fern and Anubias are low-light, but 24 inches might be pushing it. What's your PAR rating at the substrate? If it's below 20, they'll struggle. You might need to adjust the light intensity or duration. Also, check your CO2 levels if you're running it.
