about clowns

I've got my last two fish lined up for my tank, two false perc clowns. Want them to pair up, so I'm looking for advice on how to do this without buying a mated pair.

Re: company stock listings

I've been noticing more bristle worms lately and I'm looking for something to help control them. I know the flasher wrasse may not completely get rid of them, but it's still a really cool fish. Would I be able to do option 1 with the flasher wrasse instead of the six line wrasse, or would I be ...

Re: company stock listings

I'll pass on the maroon then. Will a flasher wrasse go after bristle worms?

Re: company stock listings

Considering option 4, I'm curious about the clownfish choice - would maroon clowns be possible or are they indeed too aggressive for this setup?

Ok, so I've got this 20 gallon long tank and I need some help picking the rest of my fish - just give me the better option, no need for a long explanation.

Option 1:
1 firtideflow
2 false perc clowns
1 royal gramma
1 six line wrasse

Option 2:
1 firtideflow
2 false perc clowns
1 royal gramma ...

Re: Chalice coral care and questions

To adjust your alkalinity, you can use just the alk component of your two-part system to bring it up slightly, then revert to your regular calcium and alkalinity regimen to maintain stability.

Regular water changes, ideally once or twice a month, should help keep magnesium levels in check, but it ...

Re: Chalice coral care and questions

General chalic question

I'd look into bumping up the alk to around 8-9, see if that helps. Also, have you checked the Mg levels?

I've got a couple chalice frags, similar size, went in at the same time. One I was able to mount really flush to the live rock, and it's been growing out nicely. The ...

Re: What does a healthy candy cane coral look like?

I agree with BankoLite on the poofiness, my own experience with trumpet corals is that they can look quite similar to yours when they're not in ideal conditions. I have two setups, one is pretty exposed like yours, and the other is tucked away in a shaded crevice - the latter has really taken off ...
