Re: information about malawi
I've had my fair share of keeping Malawis in the past, and from my experience, overstocking actually helps reduce aggression. These fish are truly amazing - I recall having them in a 3-foot tank, and every morning I'd find they'd rearranged the substrate (I used coflake sand). One particular fish ...

Re: Prob in malawi
To be honest, nothing's standing out, apart from his breathing's a bit quicker than the others. He's hiding in the rocks most of the time, but the other fish just seem to ignore him - no fin flaring, no chasing, it's like he's invisible. Is ph a problem in malawi?
hi everyone, so i've got a 4ft tank and i'm looking to keep malawi's, been given a load of brown lava rock from an old tank - never used this stuff before, it's really weird, like pumice stone, airy and light. used to keep malawis about 10yrs ago, used ocean rock and coflake sand to bump up the ph a ...

Breeding practices
just a quick one, do malawis interbreed with other malawis? i have an electric blue johanni and he's really putting on a show, shimmering and shaking at everything around him - not aggressively chasing other fish, just seems like he's showing off, or is this just a dominance thing?
