I think it's getting better now, them white things are going away and it's opening up a bit, was a right mess when it happened, I reckon it was just digesting or something, thanks for the replies.

are matted filefish suitable for a reef aquarium?
I'm not sure if matted filtidflow reefs are safe, I think it's a bit of a myth. I saw one at the LFS and it was with coflakes but it was nipping at the zoanthids, they all closed up. I really like them but I'm skeptical.
Also, does anyone know about elegance coflakes? Mine doesn't look great at ...

As an update, I just wanted to follow up on my previous frag - the area where I cut off the heads has already started to grow a new one, and honestly, you'll hardly be able to tell I made the cut in no time.

I really appreciate the guidance, it's definitely helped put my mind at ease about fragging my Duncan. I was feeling pretty uncertain before, but now I'm much more confident in taking the next step.

Fragging duncan corals
I've got a Duncan that's branching out and I'm curious about the best time and method to frag it. What's the process - just grab a dremel and cut off a branch? Will the wound heal up okay on its own?
