Consistency is the most important thing. A stable temp means a happy, healthy betta. It's one of the easiest ways to improve their quality of life.

For optimal health, a heater is non-negotiable. They're tropical fish, so they need that warmth. A 5-gallon tank with a 50W heater should work perfectly. Just monitor the temp regularly.

If you're using reef roids, turn off the flow for a bit after feeding. Gives the coral time to grab the food before it gets blown away.

Feed mine every 3 days with a mix of mysis and cyclopeeze. They're in a 50g with moderate flow. Key is consistency. If you change the schedule too much, they'll get fussy.
