Re: Which is better for my aquarium: root tabs or aqua soil?

Aqua soil's nutrient loss over time is a major drawback, requiring regular recharging with fertilizers. Honestly, it seems more cost-effective to just use the fertilizers from the start and opt for a more budget-friendly substrate.

He's a real stunner, that Peach - love his unique coloring, especially that pop of red.

Re: I received a beta version

Stevie is a great name for a betta - it suits him. I've got a few fish with unique names too, like Franklin, my betta, and Kevin, my cory.

Re: choosing suitable companions for betta aquariums

Honestly, I'd advise against it.

A few concerns come to mind.

Firstly, bettas can be quite unpredictable. They might decide they don't like their tankmates one day and attack them. For instance, my male betta is extremely particular - he gets along with ghost shrimp and ramshorn snails, but he ...

Re: Growing water wisteria

I think you've got the wrong plant there, florapix - that's water sprite, not wisteria. The leaves are way too thin and they're all over the place, not symmetrical like wisteria leaves.

Re: Growing vallisneria in soft water

There's a type of crypt that I think might do alright in your setup, similar to vals, but the exact species is slipping my mind at the moment.

Re: Growing vallisneria in soft water

Vals are notorious for melting, and I can attest to that - since moving mine back into my 55 after that whole hand sanitizer debacle, they've been protesting the move and have indeed melted. I've found Anubias to be fairly sturdy though, and they might just be able to handle some flow, worth ...

Re: Growing vallisneria in soft water

I've also got soft water and I've had no issues with my vals, actually got them from my local rivers as they grow naturally here. Root tabs - they're a must, really help them thrive.
