Java Moss can be slow to start but once it takes off, it's gonna spread like crazy. What's your temp at? Bettas like it warm, around 78-80, and the moss prefers it too. Also, try adding a bit of liquid fert if you haven't already.


Yep, temp's key. Mine didn't do much till I bumped the heater ...

Thanks for all the input, I really appreciate it. My betta's doing great, it's really relaxed and not aggressive at all. It's not getting nipped and it's not bothering the smaller fish, even the shrimps are all out and about.

The only thing I've noticed is the rummy noses - they're always zooming ...

Is it possible to overconsume fish?

Hi All,

I've got a 50 gallon tank setup with mostly cuba moss and some mini puscilla for greenery.

Here's my current stock:
-10 rummy noses
-18 cardinal tetras
-1 betta
-7 otocinclus
-2 corys (gifted, waiting for the store to restock)
-Plus some cherry shrimps

I'm thinking of adding:
-4 more ...

Just got my new tank up and running, and I'm a bit concerned. The water is still super cloudy after 24 hours - it's like a bacteria bloom, but it seems too early for that, especially since it's a fresh setup. I seeded it with 1/3 water from my old tank to kickstart the good bacteria, but now I'm ...
