Re: Identifying a mysterious issue with my frogspawn coral
My clowns seem to enjoy the gsp, and they also have a thing for my galaxia, which is pretty interesting.

Re: Identifying a mysterious issue with my frogspawn coral
The middle head is what I'm focusing on, and I don't see a Brown Jellyfish. That being said, the whole thing does look like it's under some kind of stress. You're going to need to run some water tests to figure out what's going on.

Re: learning about flame hawkfish
Based on what I've come across, cleaner shrimp are likely to be eaten, but it might take a while - up to a year, even. Algae blenny, on the other hand, should be safe.
This fish can also be a bit aggressive towards some snails and hermits, probably eating them too. Still, it's an awesome fish, in ...

Re: Setting up a new lps tank: advice needed
I'm considering setting up a LPS tank and I have a few questions. I've always run SPS tanks, but I want to try something different.
I'm thinking of using LEDs for lighting. I've heard mixed reviews about using LEDs for LPS, so I wanted to ask if anyone has had success with them. I'm planning on ...

Re: A beginner's guide to saltwater
I'd fill the tank about 3/4 with saltwater, making sure it's at the right temp and specific gravity first. Then I'd add the rock and new sand - I wouldn't transfer sand from an existing tank, maybe just a small amount, like a cup. When moving the rock, keep it wet and minimize the time it's out of ...

Honestly, I think you gotta give euphyllias a few days to look off before stressing about it.

Re: Hammer coral showing skeleton
I've experienced those temp spikes myself, no issues so far. Had a small torch head drop off, but I figured it was just due to being too shaded. Never had a wall type euphyllia, heard they can be a handful to care for.

Re: Identifying hammer coral and possible bleaching
I've got 2 Blue+, 1 Purple+, and 1 Coral+ in my ATI setup. I've also added 72w of RB LEDs I built myself, mounted directly to the fixture.

Re: Identifying hammer coral and possible bleaching
My ATI 4 bulb unit has been working out great for my hammer. I've got it positioned just a bit below halfway up, seems to be the sweet spot. Six bulbs can be pretty intense for LPS, so I try to keep it in mind.
