I've experienced similar skin recession issues with my own Bowerbankis and some acans, and I was able to resolve the problem by tweaking the water flow to provide a bit more circulation. I've often thought about trying that out. Those Malayskento4 Trumpet Snails do bear a resemblance to Cerith snails, and supposedly they handle low-end brackish environments just fine, so it's definitely possible they'll thrive in marine environments as well.

There are a couple of options here. I think the tap water could be the culprit. It's possible that it's got nitrites in it, and in some cases, even ammonia and nitrite. This could've slowly poisoned something sensitive to nitrates in the tank, like a sponge or a sea cucumber, and then fouled the ...
