Re: setting up a small saltwater aquarium: advice needed
Hello there, welcome to the forums. They get pretty big. A 55 gallon tank might not be enough, I would definitely recommend at least a 100 gallon tank for a full-grown Puffer fish.

Re: cycle complete at 29 gallons
I'd say either the clowns or the goby first, both are pretty hardy. As long as your parameters are in check, they should do just fine. Maybe consider adding some of your CUC first, just to get them established before introducing the fish.

Re: cycle complete at 29 gallons
Kaudern's cardinal, or as I like to call them, Banggai cardinal - you could add one to your tank. However, having two might not be the best idea. While juveniles get along just fine, mature males - and possibly females - will fight each other to the death. To make it work, you'd need to get a male ...

Re: cycle complete at 29 gallons
I've finally got my 29G with 35lbs LR cycled and all my parameters are in check. Now I'm gearing up to stock some fish and CUC.
First off, I'm looking for some advice on CUC - I've been told I can keep 30+ snails, but that seems crazy to me. What's a realistic number and what kind of CUC would ...

I've had mates with them, no issues to report. Maybe you just got the bold type, eh.

Re: A twin spot hogfish query
I'm pretty sure the scientific name is Bodianus bimaculatus, but I've always known them as candy hogfish. Generally considered reef-safe, although, you know how that goes - doesn't mean they'll always play by the rules.

Re: stocking a 35-gallon aquarium
Also worth considering, there's the clown fairy wrasse, if that's what you were looking at. These are lovely fish, I almost picked one up myself.
Chromis are something I'd approach with caution though. They do grow to a decent size and can be pretty aggressive towards each other unless you've got a ...

From what I know, Eunice worms are supposed to have these 5 little tentacle-like things coming out of their heads.
Does this worm have segments or not? The pic doesn't seem to show any.

Re: Comparing queen angel to powder blue variety
Always do your research before buying anything, especially when it comes to fish and tanks. Don't just take your LFS's word for it, they might be looking to make a quick sale rather than giving you the best advice. I learned the hard way with my Powder Blue and Queen Angel, and now I'm paying the ...
