If you're worried about oxygenation with lower flow, add an air stone. Discus need stable O2 levels, especially in warmer water. Also, what's your water change routine? Frequent changes help keep them stress-free.

Leave it till the eggs hatch or go bad. Usually 2-3 days. Also, siphon out any unfertilized eggs ASAP, they're fungus magnets.

Agree with Duppy on methylene blue. Also, increase aeration near the eggs. Fungus thrives in low oxygen spots. I use an air stone angled toward the eggs. How old is your pair?

96" x 30" x 30" - 374 gallons

Thanks for the input guys, I pretty much suspected as much but wanted to confirm with you all. Planning to place an order soon, hopefully within a month or so - fingers crossed Hans is back on his feet by then.

I got some info from a local pet shop about Hans Discus - supposedly they need soft water, even though they're captive-bred. I'm not entirely convinced, so I figured I'd ask around. What have you guys experienced with Hans Discus? Do they really need super soft water or is that just not necessary?
