Re: missing yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp
I swear, sometimes I think we're crazy for getting these guys, but honestly, they're just so worth the hassle, lol.

Re: missing yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp
Shrimp can build a whole network of tunnels all around the tank at first, till it feels at home. They're incredible diggers, I swear. You'll hear the clicking after lights out, but don't worry, the goby will find its way back to its buddy. Mine can be at opposite ends of the tank, but they always ...

Re: missing yellow watchman goby and tiger pistol shrimp
I've got pistol pairs in both my tanks and to be honest, I hardly ever catch a glimpse of them, but the clicking noises are a dead giveaway. The watchman goby will be just fine, as mentioned earlier - they're a team, and they'll make sure they're both fed. Give it a couple of weeks, and you'll ...

Re: Best places to frag a hammer coral
I'm on board with that, cutting right in the 'v' makes sense. Trimming the bottom to make it flat is a good call too, it'll definitely make it easier to mount onto rockwork or frag plugs.

No one mentioned tank size, so I'll just dive in, lol.
I've got a soft spot for wobbegong sharks - those little guys are stunning. Zebra moray eels, same vibe, just amazing to look at. And then there's the radiata lionfish, absolute supermodel of the sea, I mean, have you seen those looks?

Re: Elegance coral defecation patterns
I've got a pretty tall tank, 30" to be exact, and I've positioned my lights about 10" above the water's surface. My elegance coral's doing great on the sandbed, which is over 3 feet away from the light source - seems to be its sweet spot.

Re: Elegance coral defecation patterns
I've never really seen mine poop, probably because I don't feed it directly. That zooxanthellae explanation makes sense though - could be adjusting to its new environment. Do you have any photos of the curly black things and the poop hanging out of its mouth?

Checked their site, they've got WYSIWYG pics up. Not exactly what I had in mind after seeing that original colony shot though.

Re: Neon orange hammer coral
Got store credit for my hammer, but shipping's a nightmare this time of year. Credit wouldn't cover the extra cost, so I'm holding onto both and planning to grab another piece after the holidays.
