the 1 inch per gallon rule is more for freshwater, it's not really applicable to saltwater tanks.

I'm getting worried about my scoly - the skeleton is starting to show.
My parameters are all good - 11.4 CA, 389 mg, and 1500 alkalinity. The only issue I can think of is my salinity, which is a bit high at 1.0028. I'm pretty sure it spiked when I bumped up my Mg levels a month ago to deal with ...

Your scoly's actually looking alright, no damage around the mouth and it's puffed up pretty well. Just keep those water parameters in check and make sure you're feeding it when the tentacles are out, that's key. You should start seeing some improvement within a week or so, just keep at it and give ...

I voted no. The clownfish might be able to survive in a 5.5 gallon tank, but I highly doubt it would be a happy or healthy life for the fish. I think you're better off with a clown goby - they're tiny and mostly perch, so they don't require much space to swim.
