Honestly, I think 5ft is the bare minimum for tangs, but even that's a bit tight. They're built for long-distance swimming, so anything under 6ft is basically a fish-sized straightjacket. I mean, I get it, when they're small, you can keep them in smaller tanks with the intention of upgrading, but ...

I've come across this issue before in a few threads on RC, seems like it's not uncommon. I recall reading about it, but can't find the links right now - I'll try searching again tonight to see if I can dig anything up.

How long have you had this goniopora? Is it around that 18-month mark, I'm just wondering if that could be a factor here.
