Re: can chalice corals tolerate low light?
I'd say test it out in the new spot for a bit. If it starts looking rough, just move it back. Chalices are tough, they'll bounce back. What's the rest of your tank like? Any aggressive neighbors?

Re: best temperature range for mixed corals
Stability's key, like BoldOne said. If you're gonna tweak it, do it slow—maybe 0.5°F per day. Also, what's your alk sitting at? High temps can mess with consumption rates.

Re: best temperature range for mixed corals
I keep mine at 77°F, seems to work fine. Got a bunch of softies and a couple SPS frags. Tank's only 40 gallons though, so maybe smaller systems chill better. Using a cheap heater, but it's steady.
Smaller tanks can swing faster, so 77°F makes sense. For a 75-gallon like OP's, I'd lean 78–79°F ...

Re: identifying a betta
He appears to be a mix of marble and koi plakat, with the body type of a traditional 'fighter' Betta.

Re: Is my betta fish suffering from fin rot?
Hi everyone,
I'm so sorry for the really late update - life got in the way. A heat wave hit my area and my AC broke while I was out, the temperature soared over 100 degrees. I lost many of my fish, including my beloved Kuhlis, which was devastating. Thankfully, my Gouramis and Howl made it through ...

Re: Is my betta fish suffering from fin rot?

Is my betta fish suffering from fin rot?
I'm getting really worried about my Betta, Howl - his tail fin is all damaged. I switched him from my 10gallon tank to the 5.5gallon one after I realized the fluxeon stone was cutting his fins. No sharp ornaments in the new tank, so I thought that'd solve the problem. But now, his tail fin's got ...
