Yep, same here. Moved mine away from a Duncan and it perked up in a few days. Try relocating it to a quieter spot.

Re: Hammer coral not extending, help!
I'd double-check the light intensity. Too much PAR can make them retract. What's your schedule like on the Primes?

Re: Using amino acids for better coral coloration
What's your nitrate level at? Mine were washed out till I bumped nitrates to 5ppm. Also, try cutting the amino dose in half. Sometimes less is more, ya know?

Re: best substrate for coral tanks
Thanks for the tips, everyone. Leaning toward a shallow sand bed with maybe a small crushed coral section in one corner. Gonna pair it with a couple nassarius snails to keep things stirred up.

best substrate for coral tanks
Setting up a new tank and wanna get the substrate right. What's the best option for corals? Heard mixed things about sand vs crushed coral. My tank's a 40 gallon with moderate flow, planning to keep mostly LPS like Torches and Hammers.

Re: can torch corals touch hammer corals?
Mine are close in a 30-gallon, no issues yet. But I feed them mysis twice a week, so maybe they're too full to fight. You running carbon? Might help if they start throwing hands. My filter's a Fluval 307, and I swap the media monthly.

Re: How much would you spend on a betta?
I'm on a super tight budget since I'm 13 and unemployed, and my parents aren't exactly thrilled about me getting more fish. They don't chip in, so I've got to make do with what I've got.
I'd say my limit is around $15, but if I got some birthday cash or something, I might stretch it to $20.

Re: feeding bettas people food and fruit
My betta boy absolutely loves it when I give him small pieces of defrosted sweet corn - it's definitely a favourite of his. One thing to keep in mind, though, is to make sure you remove the skin first, that's really important.
